Bangladesh will observe three days of state mourning for Pope Francis’ death. The three days of mourning will be observed from April 24 to 26. A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday night.

The notification said that the government has decided that the death of Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church and the head of state of the Vatican City State, will be observed for three days of state mourning from April 24 to April 26, 2025.

During these three days, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, educational institutions, all government and private buildings in Bangladesh and Bangladesh missions abroad. In addition, special prayers will be organized for the repose of Pope Francis’ soul.
