The Bangladesh Catholic Church will host an interfaith dialogue in the country in September this year. Cardinal George Jacob Kuvakkad, Prefect of the Vatican’s Department of Interfaith Dialogue, said this during a meeting with Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Bangladesh Interim Government, at a hotel in Rome on Saturday.

Kuvakkad, who became a cardinal from the Indian state of Kerala, told the Chief Advisor that the dialogue will bring together leaders of different religions.

During the meeting, Professor Yunus stressed the need for continued dialogue among people of different religions in Bangladesh.

Professor Yunus highlighted the country’s commitment to religious harmony and the efforts of the interim government to protect the rights of all citizens regardless of race, religion, color, and gender.

The government’s Chief Coordinator for SDGs, Lamia Morshed, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the Vatican, Tarek Ariful Islam, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Italy, Rakibul Haque, were present at the event.
