Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that India has not yet been able to present any credible evidence regarding Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahelgaon attack. This is a clear attempt to tarnish Pakistan. Geo News

Shahbaz Sharif said this in an interview with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan today.

The meeting pledged to reaffirm the historical and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey. The regional situation in the context of the Pahelgaon incident in India was also discussed.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz extended his warm greetings to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and appreciated Turkey’s unwavering support to Pakistan. He said that this support is a reflection of the deep and tested brotherly relations between the people and governments of the two countries.

On the recent tensions that have arisen following the Pahalgaon incident, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan has adopted a responsible and restrained stance despite India’s provocative behavior.

He stressed that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism and India’s attempts to link Pakistan to the Pahalgaon incident are baseless.

He reiterated his call for a credible, transparent and impartial international investigation into the incident. The Prime Minister added that Pakistan would fully cooperate with such an investigation and would warmly welcome Turkey’s participation if it wished to do so.

The Turkish Ambassador supported Pakistan’s position and called on all parties to exercise restraint in order to de-escalate tensions and maintain peace and security in South Asia.
