Thunderstorms with gusts of up to 60 kmph are likely in 9 districts of the country, including Sylhet

The Meteorological Department has said that thunderstorms with gusts of up to 60 kmph are likely to occur over 9 districts of the country.

This was announced in a warning issued for the country’s inland river ports from 9 pm on Sunday (May 4) to 9 am on Monday.

The notification signed by meteorologist Md. Omar Farooq said that temporary gusts or gusty winds of 45 to 60 kmph may blow from the west or northwest over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Kushtia, Jessore, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet districts. Along with this, rain or thundershowers may occur.

Therefore, river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
