Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain has commented that Dhaka does not want any kind of conflict in South Asia. He said, Bangladesh wants any problem to be resolved through dialogue.
He told reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday evening.
Regarding the phone call with the Pakistani Foreign Minister, the Foreign Affairs Advisor said, the Pakistani Foreign Minister called to inform him about the incident and what steps Pakistan has taken. He did not ask for any cooperation from me. Bangladesh wants peace to be maintained. Measures to be taken to de-escalate tensions. This is Bangladesh’s expectation so that no incident that could increase tensions occurs. Bangladesh wants any problem to be resolved through dialogue.
In response to whether Dhaka’s message will be given to Delhi or not – he said, if Delhi asks Dhaka to know, Dhaka will say the same thing. However, Dhaka will not say anything in advance. Since the call came from Islamabad, it has been informed that Bangladesh wants peace, we do not want any conflict here.
