India-Pakistan ceasefire reached through two people’s efforts

A ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has been reached after 48 hours of intense efforts by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio himself gave this information in a post on social media X.

Marco Rubio said that India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to begin detailed discussions at a neutral location.

In a post on X, he also said that he appreciates the wisdom, prudence and statesmanship of Prime Minister Modi (Narendra Modi) and Sharif (Shahbaz Sharif) in choosing the path of peace.

He said that he and Vice President JD Vance spent the last 48 hours with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, including senior Indian and Pakistani officials.

Marco Rubio said that in the last 48 hours he has discussed the ceasefire with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir, Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Pakistani National Security Advisor Asim Malik.

In an announcement on his Truth Social on Saturday, Trump said, “After long, all-night talks brokered by the United States, India and Pakistan have agreed to a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire. Kudos to both countries for their common sense and foresight!”
