Hamza Chowdhury has made it to Sky Sports’ XI of the Year. The shaggy-haired midfielder made his debut in the red-green jersey of Bangladesh on March 25. Bangladesh drew the match goalless against India in Shillong. Hamza is now playing on loan at Sheffield United from English Premier League club Leicester City.
The Bangladesh midfielder has been named in the list of South Asian footballers of the year by Sky Sports journalist Dave Trehan and British-South Asian footballer scout Zohaib Rashid. Over the past few years, Dave Trehan has compiled the XI of the year with British-South Asian footballers scattered across all levels of European football.
Hamza has been in that XI as the best midfielder for two consecutive years. He was named in the team of the year for his excellent performance for Sheffield this season.
Hamza is the only representative of Bangladesh in this team.
