Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the first time after the recent war with Pakistan after the gunmen attacked in Kashmir’s Pahelgam.

At the beginning of his speech at around 8 pm local time on Monday, he praised the country’s armed forces and their operation in the Pahelgam attack. Modi said that the action of the armed forces has confirmed how high the price of removing a woman’s vermilion can be.

Meanwhile, Geo News reported that there was a telephone conversation between the Chief of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan on Monday evening. This is the first direct contact between the two nuclear-armed neighbors after the intense clash last week and the ceasefire announcement on Saturday.

The media reported that Pakistan has not yet given any detailed statement on this matter. However, both sides have confirmed that they will continue to communicate with each other to maintain peace.

In addition, India has opened 32 airports in the north and west of the country to prevent conflict with Pakistan. These include many important airports including Srinagar, Jammu, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jamnagar and Bhuj. This information was given by the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India on Monday. The government statement said that 32 airports that were temporarily closed for civil aviation till May 15 have been opened. However, air passengers have been advised to go to the airport after talking to the concerned airline or checking their updates on their website.
