Bangladesh will face Nepal in the semi-finals of the SAFF Under-19 Championship on Friday. The red-green team defeated Nepal 2-1 at the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Arunachal, India, on Friday (May 16) to secure a ticket to the final.

Although neither team scored a goal in the first half, the second half was full of excitement. In the 73rd minute of the match, Nazmul Huda gave the team the lead with a great header from Faisal’s corner. Then, in the 81st minute, Faisal doubled the lead from Manik’s pass. In the end, Sujan Dangol scored a goal in the 87th minute, but Nepal could not avoid defeat.

With this win, Bangladesh entered the SAFF final for the second consecutive time. They defeated Nepal 4-1 in the final of the previous edition as well. This time, there is one more step left in the mission to retain that title.

Bangladesh reached the semi-finals as Group A champions after drawing 2-2 with Maldives in the group stage and beating Bhutan 3-0. On the other hand, Group B champions India will play in the second semi-final, where their opponents will be Group A runners-up Maldives.

The final match will be held on May 19, at the same venue. Now Bangladesh have the opportunity to retain their South Asian supremacy for the second time in a row.
