Political leaders raised various proposals in a meeting with chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus. The meeting was held in two parts on Sunday afternoon.
After the meeting, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, “We must do as much reform as is necessary for a fair election. He claimed that Indian hegemony is a partner in the ongoing conspiracy.”
Former CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim said, “Reforms must be made based on the people’s opinions.”
Revolutionary Workers Party Secretary Saiful Haque said, “The chief advisor’s resignation will further intensify the crisis. He expressed full support for the chief advisor and called for an equal approach to everyone. He accused the advisors of lack of coordination. In addition, he demanded that the port and corridor issues be handed over to the political parties. It is possible to create a national charter within the next 1 month by reforming it.’
Saiful Haque complained that political parties are being avoided. Even if it takes a couple of months more, there will be no problem if the government has an understanding with the political parties.
Jonayed Saki, the chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, said, ‘The situation is such that it is challenging for him to work and the meeting was held on how to take this situation to the desired place. He sought everyone’s agreement. He urged the interim government to fulfill its responsibility of moving towards justice on the one hand and democratic reforms on the other.’
Saying that the people want to see a visible trial, Jonayed Saki said, the chief advisor expressed his determination not to delay the trial. It is also giving rise to various types of distrust and instability and must be removed. The July Charter must be published as a national charter as soon as possible. He urged the government to take care that there is no division around the July Movement. He also said that monitoring the situation is essential for fair elections. He demanded that a specific month or week be announced for the elections.
At this time, he said, “If there is a political will, the government should move away from the rule of two advisors. The resignation of the chief advisor cannot be part of the discussion in this situation of the country. Everyone has confidence in him. Therefore, there is no alternative to fulfilling his duties at this moment. The government and political parties must also be vigilant to prevent foreign conspiracies.”
AB Party’s Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan Manju demanded that the elections be held by February 5 and said that the chief advisor is disappointed with various issues. The AB Party called for a team to be formed and an understanding with the political parties. Calling for a strong solution, the AB Party demanded a roadmap for elections, reforms, and justice.
After the meeting, Ameer of the Islamic Movement of Bangladesh, Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, said, “We will implement fundamental reforms with great hope and will give an electoral roadmap.
Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque has requested not to give up in the middle of any situation. He said, “There is no progress in the ongoing reforms. He called for the trial of at least two to four cases of mass uprising to be completed. He also called for a decision to be taken after discussing with political parties in the case of corridors or ports.
Meanwhile, People’s Rights Council President Nurul Haque Nur, calling for the announcement of a specific month for the elections, said, “The government should take action regarding controversial advisors and work with the entire administration, including the military, in confidence.” Nur also said that we should move forward ignoring external pressure and various conspiracies.
