I will feel guilty if I cannot hold a fair election: Chief Advisor

Dhaka //

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, ‌‌‍‌‌‌‌I will feel guilty if I cannot hold a fair election. Besides, I am sure that nothing will be done that will harm the country as long as I am here.

The chief advisor said this at a meeting with political parties on Sunday night, his press secretary Shafiqul Alam said.

The press secretary said that the chief advisor said, “We are in a major war situation. After the Awami League’s activities were banned, every effort is being made to destabilize it. We have to be saved from this. We have to be saved from division. There must be consensus, as much as we have been able to stand as a self-respecting nation, it should move forward.”

He said, I got courage from everyone sitting together. I will feel guilty if I cannot hold a fair election.

The chief advisor said, ‘I got a great opportunity due to the coup; to pull the destroyed country back together. With the banning of the Awami League, another war situation has been created inside and outside the country; so that we cannot move forward; so that everything collapses; so that we return to slavery.’

He said, ‘As long as I am here, nothing will be done that will harm the country, I am sure.’
