Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, will leave for the UK on a four-day official visit today, Monday.

During the visit, the chief advisor will meet with British King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. At that time, the chief advisor will receive the ‘King Charles Harmony Award’ from King Charles. According to BSS,

In addition, the chief advisor is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He will participate in a dialogue organized by Chatham House, a policy research institute in the UK.

The chief advisor’s office has informed that the issue of the UK’s support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition will be of special importance during his visit. In addition, Bangladesh will prioritize the issue of bringing back laundered money.

The chief advisor is scheduled to return to the country on June 14.
