BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has commented that some are trying to gain political advantage in the Mitford incident. He said, a heartbreaking incident took place in front of Mitford Hospital yesterday (July 11). It is the responsibility of the administration or law enforcement agencies to uncover the truth in this incident. Those whose names were found in the BNP affiliate organizations in this incident were expelled for life that night.
He said, a couple of political parties are holding processions, trying to pin the blame on BNP. If we had remained silent like Sheikh Hasina, not taken action against the criminals, not expelled them, then there would have been one thing. But the party immediately tried and strongly condemned. Then why are you holding processions? I mean to gain political advantage. We have not forgotten your past misdeeds.
Rizvi said these things while inaugurating a free medical camp in Uttara in the capital on Saturday (July 12).
He also said, we have not forgotten how the leg veins of the students of Rajshahi University and Chittagong University were cut, how the Chhatra Dal leader was taken from inside the bus and killed in Binodpur village. People have not forgotten your brutality, your horror. People still give you those titles when they see you. And now you hold processions. Trying to gain benefits by ignoring the positive aspects of BNP will not help.
He said, the leg veins were cut and killed in Khulna. Where is this not being said? They entered the holy mosque in Chandpur and hacked the Imam – they are not saying this! We demand the arrest and trial of those involved in all the murders, including the murder of Sohag.
The BNP spokesperson said, BNP is a big family. It is not always possible to keep track of one or two miscreants entering there. But if the miscreants can be identified in any way, no one is shy of taking action against them. They were expelled the same night that two BNP groups clashed in Sujanagar, Pabna. The heartbreaking incident that happened yesterday has nothing to do with politics. Yet I see some political parties trying to give a political color to the incident. Where is the party involved here, it could be someone with the party’s name. This is not a clash over party positions or titles. There is no quarrel over the party’s ideology, the quarrel is over their business, these are their personal matters. You have heard about the incident about the demolition business. Where is the party involved in this incident?
Rizvi said, there is no exemption for those involved in any kind of misdeed, conflict or killing of people. Even if you go deep into the ground, catch them from there and set an example so that such incidents do not happen again.
Give your opinion.
