Md. Sirajul Islam Munzel (45), the office secretary of Dhameshwar Union BNP in Daulatpur Upazila of Manikganj, has been expelled from the party. He has been expelled from the party for life for immoral relationship with the wife of an expatriate.

This information was given in a press release signed by Upazila BNP President Md. Sirajul Islam and General Secretary Muhammad Anisur Rahman on Saturday (July 12).

It said that Munzel was expelled from all levels of posts, including primary membership, for life, in view of specific allegations of being involved in anti-social activities that go against party policies, ideology and discipline. In addition, all party leaders and activists have been instructed not to have any relationship with him.

Earlier, on Friday night, at around 2 am, villagers arrested Munzel from the house of an expatriate in Char Deshgram. Later, he was tied to a tree with a rope.

Dhameshwar Union BNP General Secretary Lutfar Rahman Pintu confirmed the incident and said that the locals arrested him and tied him to a tree at around 2 am. Both of them have confessed to having an immoral relationship. The woman’s expatriate husband has said that he will not have a family with her now. On the other hand, organizational measures have also been taken against Munzel by the party.
