BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, despite many crises in the country, we all have supported Dr. Yunus’ government. Because unlike Sheikh Hasina, he will not launder money outside the country in the name of Padma Bridge, Metrorail, and flyover. This government should hold elections before Ramadan by understanding people’s sentiments.

He said these things as the chief guest at the financial assistance distribution ceremony for 10 families of martyrs of the district in the July-August movement organized by the BNP family organization at the Kurigram Central Eidgah ground on Tuesday (July 15) afternoon.

Rizvi said, we have fought for 16 years. Let there be rule of law, justice, and a free and fair election. Voters could not vote for 16 years; but why is there so much delay in this election?

He said, the field of democracy was ready for 16 years under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman. The July movement won on the background that was written. When you started spreading misinformation and slander, BNP stood by the families of the injured and killed. Don’t start spreading misinformation about Tarique Rahman. Then many things will come to you. Tarique Rahman is the star of democracy. The movement of July-August has gained momentum because of him. Therefore, you should not make indecent comments about him.

The senior joint secretary general of BNP said that a couple of Islamic parties got the opportunity to do politics under the grace of Ziaur Rahman. If anyone has feelings for Islam, it is BNP. People know that they will do opportunistic work in the name of Islam. We know that they are spreading nonsense information using various content on YouTube, various media, and artificial intelligence. We have told the leaders and activists not to give in to any provocation.

He said that those involved in the Sohag murder in front of Mitford Hospital have not only been expelled, but cases have been filed against them.

At the end of the discussion meeting, assistance of 50 thousand taka was given to each of the 10 families martyred in the July-August movement.
