The government has decided to observe state mourning on July 16 on the occasion of ‘July Martyrs’ Day’. This was stated in a notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid on Tuesday.
The notification said that in order to observe state mourning, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, educational institutions, all government and private buildings in Bangladesh and Bangladesh missions abroad.
On this day, special prayers will be held in all mosques of Bangladesh for the forgiveness of the martyrs. Special prayers will be organized in other religious institutions for the peace of their souls.
