NCP to form July Uprising Cell

Chittagong Correspondent //

The National Citizen Party (NCP) will form a July Uprising Cell for the families of those killed and injured in the July Uprising. This was stated by the party’s convener Nahid Islam.

He made this statement after meeting the family members of those killed in the uprising in Chittagong on Sunday (July 20).

Nahid Islam said that the NCP will always be by the side of the martyred families in the July-August movement. We are hopeful that the government will issue the July Declaration by August 5. The declaration will definitely be added to the constitution. This will create a legal recognition of the mass uprising.

The NCP convener said that we are traveling all over the country and sitting with all the martyred families. They all have more or less the same problems. In some places, the problems are less, the facilities have reached or inquiries have been made. When we were in government, we put pressure on them to take various initiatives.

He said, it is seen that the initiatives have not reached the field level or are delayed in reaching it. Many types of problems still occur there. There are friends of tyranny in different parts of the administration. We hear complaints in different places about the respect that the families of martyrs should receive.

At this time, Nahid Islam said to the members of the martyrs’ families, we did not come to you as a party. We came because we were in the coup, your family members were with us, from that point we consider a family above party affiliation. The martyrs gave their lives for the whole of Bangladesh, the country. We are struggling to establish their respect.

He said, we are going all over the country on behalf of our party and listening to everyone. We are running a martyr welfare cell on behalf of the party, under which we are trying our best from our place. Wherever we go, we are taking everyone’s numbers again.

In Nahid Islam’s words, ‘We are doing this through a local organization. We always say that the political declaration or charter of July is the one and on August 3 we will hold a big program in Dhaka regarding it. The government should give it. The government is also saying that it will give it by August 5.’

At that time, the families of the martyrs of Chittagong and the central and local leaders of the party were present there. Later, they left for Rangamati.

Expressed their opinions.
