Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus said that the Bangladesh Army, in addition to fulfilling its responsibilities to protect the country’s independence and sovereignty, is also making an important contribution to supporting the civil administration in maintaining internal peace and order, stability and dealing with disasters. At present, army members have been fulfilling their responsibilities to support the civil administration for some time.

The chief advisor said these things at the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Army Chief Election Board-2025’ at the army headquarters on Sunday. He also sincerely thanked all the members, starting from the army chief, for the sacrifices of the Bangladesh Army in the country’s needs.

Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus instructed the members of the election board to emphasize the professional skills, leadership qualities, standards of discipline, honesty, trustworthiness and loyalty and above all, suitability for the job for the promotion of officers. He also commented that officers who are honest, ethical, professional and have leadership qualities deserve higher promotions.

The Chief Advisor also directed to select for promotion those officers who have succeeded in providing competent leadership at different levels of military life, above political ideology.

Earlier, upon reaching the venue, Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman welcomed the Chief Advisor. Senior military and civilian officials were present at the inauguration ceremony of the Army Chief Election Board.
