BNP will hold Milad and Doa Mahfil programs across the country on Tuesday over the casualties of students after an Air Force training plane crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital. This was announced in a press release signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
The release said that on the occasion of the National Mourning Day, the party will hold Milad and Doa Mahfil across the country, including Dhaka, at its initiative to pray for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the deceased and the speedy recovery of the injured. The Milad and Doa Mahfil will be held centrally on Tuesday at 11:30 am on the ground floor of the central office in Nayapaltan.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman expressed his condolences to the deceased, and directed party leaders and activists, Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal to donate blood and other service materials. He also instructed the party’s health secretary and leaders to participate in the rescue work, including providing ambulances, as soon as the bad news was received.
Tarique Rahman is also monitoring the issues of overall assistance to the accident victims around the clock, including the cancellation of the Krishak Dal rally and the postponement of the Mahila Dal program today.
