Hefazat Islam Bangladesh has called for special prayers and supplications in all mosques, madrasas and religious institutions of the country in the wake of the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training plane in Uttara, the capital.

The call was made in a statement signed by the organization’s Amir Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagri and Secretary General Allama Shaykh Sajidur Rahman, sent to the media on Monday (July 21).

In the statement, they said, the tragic loss of life in the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training plane in the Milestone College campus in Uttara, the capital, is very heartbreaking and painful. We pray for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

They said, “In this moment of grief, we express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased, the relatives of the injured and the entire nation.”

Hefazat leaders also said that such tragic accidents remind us of the uncertainty of life and the helplessness of people in the face of the power of Allah. We are calling for special prayers and supplications in all mosques, madrasas and religious institutions of the country – so that Allah Almighty grants the deceased the right to Paradise and the injured a speedy recovery.
