A shadow of mourning has fallen across the country after a horrific plane crash in Dhaka’s Uttara. 19 people have already been reported dead. At least 200 people were burnt. There is a fear that the death toll will rise further.

An F-7 BJI model training plane of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed at the Milestone School and College campus in the Diyabari area of Uttara at 1:06 pm on Monday. Many people including teachers, children and teenage students were killed in the incident.

A state mourning has been declared on Tuesday in this incident. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed its condolences.

The flags of Bangladesh and the Cricket Board will be flown at half-mast during the second T20 match between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today, Tuesday. Bangladeshi cricketers will wear black badges in the match.

BCB Media Manager Rabid Inam confirmed this, saying, “Our team will wear black badges in memory of those killed and injured in the plane crash.” Besides, both teams will observe a minute of silence before the match.
