The government has postponed the HSC exams on Tuesday, a day of national mourning, following the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training warplane at the Milestone School and College campus in Dhaka’s Uttara.
Information Advisor Md. Mahfuz Alam gave this information in a post on his Facebook page on Monday night. He said that he met with Education Advisor C.R. Abrar. After discussing with him, the decision to postpone the exams was made.
When Education Advisor Professor C.R. Abrar was called to inquire about this, he could not be reached on the phone. He did not respond even though he was sent a text message.
Meanwhile, Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan also gave this information on the social media Facebook. In a post, he wrote, ‘Today’s HSC exam has been postponed.’
Earlier on Monday night, Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Examination Controller Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider told the media that no decision has been made to postpone Tuesday’s HSC exam. He said that the ongoing HSC exam will be held on time. No decision has been taken to postpone Tuesday’s exam.
According to the schedule, HSC Chemistry (Theoretical) Second Paper, Islamic History and Culture Second Paper (Humanities Branch) exam were scheduled to be held on Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm and History Second Paper/Home Management and Family Life Second Paper and Production Management and Marketing Second Paper were scheduled to be held in the afternoon shift. The government has decided to postpone these exams.
