The National Citizens Party NCP held a rally and march in Habiganj as part of the July Padyatra. The rally took place in front of the Saifur Rahman Town Hall in the city at 6 pm on Thursday.
The rally was conducted by NCP’s northern chief organizer Sarjis Alam, and NCP convener Nahid Islam spoke as the chief guest.
He said, “The struggle we have started against Mujibism and fascism is not over yet. We have not yet achieved the new Bangladesh we wanted. Therefore, our struggle will continue. We have to stand by the people for them. We have to go from area to area and stand by the common people.”
Nahid Islam said, “We want human rights to be established in Bangladesh. No extrajudicial killings will be organized in this country. Similarly, we all have to stand against extortion. We know about the health sector in Habiganj. The people of this district have to run to Dhaka or Sylhet for the slightest thing. We want to build a Bangladesh where all mismanagement in the medical sector will be eliminated and the syndicates will be broken and there will be equal rights. We strongly condemn and protest against the killings that are being organized and pushed on our border.”

There, they exchanged views with the family members of the martyrs in the July movement. Later, the NCP started the march from the Circuit House at 5:30 pm.
