A youth was killed over a TikTok video dispute in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district.

The incident took place on Friday (July 25) at around 10:30 am in Chanuakhai (Latif Nagar) village of Kalkalia union of Jagannathpur upazila.

The deceased youth is Rubel Mia (26), son of deceased Yunus Ali of the same village. However, the locals have arrested the main killer involved in the incident and handed him over to the police.

It is learned that Monir Mia (50), son of deceased Mr. Ali of the same village, used to make TikTok videos at different times. This led to a dispute with Rubel. At one point on Friday morning, they both got into a fight. During this, Rubel and his cousin Sultan were seriously injured. Later, when the locals took them to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor working there declared Rubel dead. His other cousin Sultan Mia (35) is receiving treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.

Jagannathpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuz Imtiaz Bhuiyan confirmed the incident. He said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. Monir, son of the main accused Turab Ullah, has been arrested. The body of the deceased has been sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The case is under process.
