Want to restore people’s trust through acceptable elections: Nasir Uddin

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said, at the end of his life, he does not want to pursue any personal goals or interests, but rather do a good job for the country. My goal is to give the nation a fair, free and acceptable election. This is not possible for me alone. For this, I seek the overall cooperation and prayers of the countrymen.

He said these things in his greetings to the worshippers before the Friday prayers at the Jessore Collectorate Mosque yesterday, Friday.

He offered Friday prayers at this mosque during a short stop in Jessore on his way to Khulna.

The Chief Election Commissioner said, I have fulfilled many responsibilities in my government service life. I have gained a lot of experience. But the important responsibility that has come to my shoulders at this moment is very important for the country. I want to restore people’s trust through an acceptable election. Everyone’s sincere cooperation is needed to achieve this goal.

CEC Nasir Uddin sought prayers from everyone present at the mosque for the victims and injured in the recent plane crash in Dhaka. He also participated in the prayer meeting organized in memory of the students killed in the Milestone School accident and expressed his condolences.

Jessore Deputy Commissioner Md. Azaharul Islam, other senior officials of the local administration and ordinary worshippers were also present at the time.

He expressed his opinion.
