Medical report- Attempt to migrate abroad without embassy, chaos!

Md. Jamal Ahmed, Staff Reporter, Sylhet //

A group of syndicates are trying to migrate abroad without medical reports and embassy. This has put the visa processing authorities in extreme trouble.

It is learned that Fatema Akhter, wife of Kabir Ahmed Rukon of Kamusena village in South Surma area of Sylhet Sadar, signed an agreement with two consultants from America and Canada and started visa processing activities on EB-3 work permits.

Fatema started visa processing work when the autocratic Awami League government was in power. In the meantime, visa processing slowed down somewhat during the July-August movement. All activities came to a halt. Finally, after August 5, when the situation calmed down and the work permit visa processing for going abroad started, at one stage, when the police requested them to provide a clearance certificate, medical report and join the embassy, the cat in the bag came out. The syndicate started making various excuses. Using tactics, they put the condition of going abroad without a medical report and embassy on Fatema Akhter’s neck. In this regard, several arbitration meetings were held at the local level and it was decided that the expatriates should confront the embassy. Later, if anyone’s visa procedure is not completed, then everyone’s deposited money will be returned. In addition, the meeting decided that out of the twenty-one lakh taka given by Sayem Khan, son of Md. Fahim Khan of Audat (Barhal) village of Moulvibazar district, he had already received nine lakh taka through a bank check. It was decided to pay the remaining twelve lakh taka in two installments.

Although the amount of 5 lakh taka was supposed to be collected today (August 15) and the remaining amount on August 25, it was clearly stated on the mobile phone that the money would not be accepted without any reason. It is mysterious but true that the syndicate group is continuing various types of threats and propaganda to humiliate Fatema Akhter by pointing the thumbs up at the decision of the arbitration meeting. They are continuing to spread the word through various social media platforms by accusing Fatema of embezzling more than a crore taka. Currently, she is suffering from extreme insecurity about her self-esteem.

Meanwhile, the investigation shows that Fatema Akhter has recorded the agreement with everyone with a stamp of three hundred taka. They are all her relatives. All the transaction documents were done through the bank. It shows that Fatema Akhter has signed agreements with six people for less than half a crore taka. Many of them have also taken back some money at different times, showing their own difficulties. They are – Sayem Khan, Shafiqul, Rahin Ahmed, Shahed, Saker Ahmed and Abdul Malik Khan. There are several accused in the case, Shafiqul and Saker Ahmed, who are accused of overthrowing the dictatorship.

When contacted on mobile phone, Sayem Khan, Rahin Ahmed and Shahed avoided the arbitration meeting and other issues and said, “We have deposited money to go abroad. That woman could not do our work on time. You journalists, please look into the matter.” Meanwhile, Sayem Khan also told the reporter that he had received 9 lakh taka in return. The other two said that they did not get any money back. It was not possible to take any statement from the other three as Shafiqul and Saker are absconding. However, when Abdul Malik’s mobile phone was not received, no statement was received.

On the other hand, when talking to Fatema Akhter on the phone, she said in a tearful voice, “They are doing whatever they want to me because I am a woman. I have all the documents. Many are denying it with money. If necessary, I will approach the law.” She also said, “I am not a broker or a fraudster. I do not have a travel agency. I do not traffic people. They are all my relatives. Recently, they have started trying to degrade me and my relatives.” She also sought the cooperation of journalists at this time.
