BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu said that Jamaat-e-Islami has started a conspiracy to prevent Tarique Rahman from being elected Prime Minister in the future. The party is trying to sabotage the election. This anti-liberation political party is conspiring about the election on the pretext of PR system. Their attempt will not be implemented. The people of the country are now election-oriented.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the biannual conference of Upazila and Municipal BNP at Chauddagram H J Model Government Pilot High School ground in Comilla on Wednesday evening.

Bulu said, I do not understand PR, TR. The national parliament election must be held in the same manner as the previous elections. Otherwise, the people of this country will build resistance. In 1996, Jamaat-e-Islami observed a 173-day hartal in the country in alliance with the Awami League. In 1996, they won only 3 seats in the elections against Khaleda Zia.

‘In 1947, Jamaat did not vote for Pakistan. They voted for undivided India then. Jamaat is never for the country, they always work against the country. They have brought the PR method forward as part of the conspiracy for the next elections.’

He said that Dr. Yunus, understanding the people’s demand, has announced the national elections in February. I hope the elections will be held at that time. Only an elected government can restore order in the country. Without an elected government, good governance will not come to the country. If the elected government takes power, it will be able to bring back the money laundered during the Awami League’s tenure.

Barkat Ullah Bulu said that there is no leader like Khaleda Zia. Only Khaleda Zia is going to sacrifice her life for the country. Sheikh Hasina tried to kill Khaleda Zia by taking her to jail and killing her with slow-poison. Ziaur Rahman gave the country a map through the declaration of independence on March 27, 1971.

Chouddagram Upazila BNP convener Md. Kamrul Huda presided over the conference, which was moderated by Member Secretary Engineer Shah Alam Raju, while Comilla South District BNP convener Zakaria Taher Suman inaugurated the conference.
