Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has said that the Bangladesh Army will provide all-out support to make the upcoming 13th National Parliament election free, fair and peaceful.
He said this at a view-exchange meeting organized at the Chittagong Circuit House on Thursday afternoon.
A press release was published on the Facebook page of the Chittagong District Administration in the afternoon informing about the meeting.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner’s Staff Officer and Assistant Commissioner Md. Moinul Hasan confirmed the matter. In addition, the matter was also informed in a press release by the ISPR.
At the meeting, the Army Chief said that the Bangladesh Army will provide all-out support in the free, fair and peaceful election expected by the nation.
Stressing the importance of maintaining a cordial environment in the performance of duties, he said that close coordination and effective coordination must be worked between all departments related to the election. The Army Chief also emphasized mutual cooperation in law and order and administrative activities during the election.
During the exchange of views, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah gave a power point presentation on the overall preparations of Chittagong district and existing challenges on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum 2026. After the presentation, the Army Chief expressed satisfaction with the overall electoral environment in Chittagong.
Chittagong Division Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz, Chittagong Range DIG Md. Ahsan Habib Palash, Chittagong Police Superintendent Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
In addition, the Deputy Commissioners and Police Superintendents of the three hill districts, as well as senior officials of the divisional administration, district administration and military also participated in the exchange of views.
