The new price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the current month of September will be announced on Monday. Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced this information in a circular on Sunday.
It is said that according to the Saudi CP for the month of September (2024) announced by Saudi Aramco, the instructions of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission will be announced at 3 pm on Monday regarding the price adjustment of private LPG at the consumer level for this month.
Earlier, on August 4, the price of 12 kg LPG cylinder for the month of August was increased by 11 taka to 1 thousand 377 taka as compared to the month of July at the consumer level. In the previous month, this price was increased by 3 rupees. At that time, the price of 12 kg cylinder was fixed at 1 thousand 366 taka.
Last June and May, the price of 12 kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 30 and Tk 49 to Tk 1 thousand 363 and Tk 1 thousand 393 respectively. Besides, the price of each 12 kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 40 last April too. Each 12 kg LPG cylinder was sold at Tk 1,442 that month. Earlier, LPG prices were increased for 8 consecutive months.
Meanwhile, BERC had hiked the prices of LPG as well as autogas last August. In August, the price of autogas was increased by 51 paise to Tk 63 21 paise as compared to July. And in July, the price of autogas was increased by 17 paisa to 62 70 paise compared to June.
However, the company reduced the price of autogas in June, May and April. In June, May and April, the price of autogas including Musak was fixed at Tk 62 53 paise, Tk 63 92 paise and Tk 66 21 paise per litre, respectively.
Note that in 2023, the price of LPG and Autogas decreased by 5 times. On the contrary, it has increased by 7 points. In January, March, April, June and July last year, the prices of LPG and Autogas decreased. And prices increased in February, May, August, September, October, November and December.
