The editors’ council has given several proposals to the interim government to remove those (sections) in the laws that have clauses of pressuring journalists and reform them later.
Chief Advisor of the Interim Government at the State Guest House Yamuna on Tuesday afternoon. The editorial board made this proposal after meeting with Muhammad Yunus.
Later, Mahfuz Anam, president of the editorial board and editor of the Daily Star, presented the information of this meeting to the journalist in front of the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna.
He said, we want a national unity to be established in the country. The editors proposed reforms in various areas including the constitution. He asked to stop the murder cases against journalists.
Among the editors present in the meeting were Matiur Rahman, editor of Dainik Prothom Alo, Nurul Kabir, editor of New Age, Saiful Alam, editor of Yugantar, Dewan Hanif, editor of Banik Barta, Santosh Sharma, editor of Kalbela and many others.
