Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to see an army officer who was critically injured in an accident during a field firing exercise in Hathazari, Chattogram. During the visit, the Prime Minister inquired about the officer’s condition and instructed the concerned officials to ensure proper medical treatment and a speedy recovery.
Her Deputy Press Secretary, Sujauddoula Sujan Mahmud, stated that the Prime Minister visited the CMH on Friday afternoon to check on the officer, who is currently undergoing treatment. He added that the Prime Minister spoke with the injured officer and his family members, offering them words of encouragement and solace.
The accident occurred on Wednesday during a Bangladesh Army field firing exercise in Hathazari, Chattogram, when a shell was fired from a tank. Two army personnel were killed, and one army officer was critically injured in the incident. The officer was subsequently admitted to the CMH in Dhaka for advanced medical treatment.
The Deputy Press Secretary further mentioned that the Prime Minister expressed deep shock over the deaths of the two army personnel and conveyed her condolences to their bereaved families.
