Police have recovered the dismembered remains—found in six pieces—of an unidentified person from three cartons lying by the roadside in the Boalia area of ​​Madhukhali Upazila, Faridpur.

On Saturday morning (September 12), locals spotted the three cartons by the side of the road. Upon noticing a strong, foul odor emanating from them, they suspected something was amiss and alerted the Madhukhali Police Station.

Locals reported that after seeing the cartons and smelling the stench, they called the emergency service number (999); police subsequently arrived at the scene and recovered the cartons. Upon opening them, the dismembered body—cut into six pieces—was discovered inside. The deceased is estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old. The identity of the victim has not yet been established.

The incident has caused a stir in the area. Police have launched an investigation to identify the deceased and unravel the mystery behind the murder. After preparing an inquest report, the police sent the remains to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Regarding the matter, Taijur Rahman, Inspector (Investigation) of Madhukhali Police Station, stated that the body parts have been recovered and sent to the morgue for an autopsy.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) SM Masuduzzaman added that the body, which was likely packed in sacks, may have been dumped there three or four days ago. The body has already begun to decompose. Efforts to identify the deceased are currently underway.
