Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur in four parts of the country under the influence of active monsoon, the Meteorological Department has predicted. Along with this, there is a risk of landslides due to heavy rains in the two sections.
This information was reported in a forecast of the Storm Warning Center of the Meteorological Department on Wednesday (June 19) morning.
According to the forecast, heavy (44-88 mm/24 hours) to very heavy (989 mm/24 hours) rainfall is likely to occur in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions from 9 am today (June 19) in the next 72 hours. .
There is a possibility of landslides in the hilly areas of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions due to heavy rains.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that storms with a speed of 45-60 km per hour may occur over eight regions of the country by noon.
This information was given in the weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 5 am to 1 pm on Wednesday (June 19).
The forecast says that rain/thunderstorm with gusty wind at 45-60 km per hour from south/south-east over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barisal, Noakhali, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar regions.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to show the number one warning signal.
