Government activities should be conducted with public interest: Dr. Yunus

Dhaka //

The chief adviser of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus gave several instructions to the secretaries in the meeting.

He held a meeting with the secretaries at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon on Wednesday (September 4).

Instructions given to the Secretaries-

He gave ‘marching orders’ to adopt and implement reform programs at all levels of government. In formulating the reform program, discussions and opinions should be taken with the concerned parties as required.

We have to build a new Bangladesh with honesty, devotion and accountability in our respective fields, standing on the faith and fearless spirit that the students gave us in the July-August uprising to build a humane country without discrimination.

In order to build a new Bangladesh, it is necessary to get out of the rigid thinking, reform the thinking, and conduct government activities with the highest importance to the public interest in a creative way.

By rooting out corruption, by simplifying services, maximum satisfaction of the people should be achieved. Ensure optimal utilization of public funds.

Fair competition should be ensured in government procurement and obstacles should be removed to ensure transparency, accountability.

With a creative, citizen-friendly mindset, each ministry/department will submit time-bound action plans for short, medium and long-term reform programmes, which will be regularly evaluated/monitored.

The interest and positive perception that has been created worldwide about the new Bangladesh created by the popular uprising of the students should be utilized in the best way for the sake of the country.
