Police have arrested Mostak Ahmed Ruhi, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Netrokona-1 constituency, from the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
He was arrested yesterday, Wednesday afternoon, at a residence on Iqbal Road within the jurisdiction of Mohammadpur Police Station.
Md. Abdul Halim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, confirmed the arrest. He stated that Ruhi was apprehended following a raid on the house around 4:45 PM, based on a tip-off. Multiple cases have been filed against this former MP, who is a leader of the Awami League—a party whose activities have been banned.
