A press conference has been organized regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The press conference will be held today, Monday, at 3:00 PM in Conference Room 701 of the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.

Mahmudul Hasan, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared this information via a text message yesterday, Sunday. Media personnel have been invited to attend the press conference and cover the news.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in New York, USA, with his entourage on September 21 to attend the UN General Assembly session. Last Thursday, he delivered a speech at the UN General Assembly session for the first time as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

During the visit, the Prime Minister highlighted various Bangladeshi priorities—including peace, democracy, combating climate change, humanitarian issues, and sustainable development—to the global community. Over the course of his four-day visit to New York, he participated in 30 official programs. Mahdi Amin, an advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for his office, stated that these included bilateral meetings with 11 countries.

The Prime Minister’s wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, also participated in eight high-level programs during the visit. She delivered speeches at four of these events. These included the UN General Assembly’s Platform of Women Leaders, the First Spouses’ Dialogue, and a high-level event on maternal and child health and midwifery.

Upon concluding the visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:40 AM on Sunday. Earlier, the scheduled Emirates Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and his entourage had departed from New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport around 11:30 PM local time on Friday.
