Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has stated that organizational measures alone are entirely insufficient regarding the incident of the Radda Clinic takeover. Legal action must be taken against the perpetrators to ensure they face severe punishment.
He made these remarks in a Facebook post on Thursday (October 1) afternoon.
In the post, he wrote that the government and the ruling party have finally been compelled to initiate organizational measures following the takeover of Radda Clinic under the cover of darkness. However, organizational steps alone are by no means adequate for such a grave offense. Legal action must be pursued against the culprits to ensure strict punishment. The people of the country want to witness visible and credible legal action.
He further added that the government must also fulfill its responsibility to sustainably rebuild the damaged and looted health center.
