According to Shahparan Police Station, on Thursday, February 9, a special operation was conducted based on secret information and a check post was set up in front of Messrs. Islam Brothers next to the Muslim School in Daspara at 11:50 pm.
At that time, the police stopped a truck Dhaka (Metro-T-18-1055) and searched it, recovered 308 bags of Indian sugar buried under stones and arrested 2 people red-handed. The value of the seized sugar is 18 lakh 11 thousand 40 taka.
One of them is Md. Kabir Ahmed (32), son of the deceased Shafiqur Rahman of Sarighat Dupi village of Jaintapur upazila and younger brother of Nurul Islam, president of Jaintapur Press Club, and the other is Md. Shakil Ahmed (19), son of Md. Chan Mia of the same village.
They told the police during interrogation that the owner of the goods is an unknown person. In this incident, FIR No.-11, dated-10 February, 2025; Section- 25B(1)(b)/25D The Special Powers Act, 1974 was filed at Shahparan (RA) Police Station.
Later, the arrested were sent to jail through the court. Currently, Nurul Islam’s brother is in jail.
