Like the fascist government, the interim government is also creating discrimination against Sylhet: Ariful Haque

Like the fascist government, the interim government is also creating discrimination against Sylhet in all areas. That is why Sylhet’s name has been excluded from many development projects. And due to lack of leadership, Sylhet is facing this discrimination.

Ariful Haque Chowdhury, advisor to the BNP Chairperson and former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, made these remarks at a press conference at his residence in Kumarparast on Monday (February 24) afternoon.

Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that the underground power line project in Sylhet was highly praised. But later it was removed from Sylhet. The Sylhet Companyganj bypass road from the airport to Badhaghat has not yet been completed. Land acquisition for the Dhaka-Sylhet 6-lane highway has not yet been completed. There is no need to acquire 23 kilometers of this highway, but work has not started there either.

Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, not only that, but there are no projects in Sylhet where projects worth crores of taka are being undertaken in other places to deal with the flood situation. In addition, discrimination is also seen in the airfare of Sylhet, which is populated by expatriates. Like the fascist government, the interim government is also discriminating against Sylhet. And due to the lack of competent leadership, the people of Sylhet are having to suffer this discrimination. If this continues, the people of Sylhet know how to claim their rights.
