Natore Correspondent //

The committee-deprived have warned of blocking roads and railways if the newly announced Natore District Committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement is not canceled within the next 12 hours.

They gave this warning at a press conference organized at a restaurant in Natore city on Monday afternoon. During this, they made four demands including the cancellation of illegal and pocket committees and the reinstatement of the previous convening committee.

Students Mashiur Rahman Fuad, Subrata Sarkar, Anik Sarkar and others spoke at the press conference. They said that the Natore District Branch Committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement was announced on January 5 with 295 members. They had been carrying out all the central programs.

But without dissolving the previous committee, suddenly on the morning of February 28, another committee with more than two hundred members was announced on the organization’s Facebook page for six months. Most of the members of the new committee are not involved in the movement and the same person has been appointed to multiple positions, which is against the ideology of the organization.

The speakers at the press conference emphasized their just demands and called for the committee to be dissolved and a new committee to be announced within the next 12 hours. Otherwise, they warned of strict programs including blocking railways and roads.
