The last tea auction of the season was held at the country’s second international tea auction center. A total of 2.5 crore taka of tea was sold at the auction. Young Haisong tea from Lakkatora tea garden was sold at the highest price in this auction. It was sold at 1850 taka per kg.
On Wednesday (April 23) morning, a total of 1 lakh 22 thousand 137 kg of tea was raised through 3 bowlers in the auction held on the third floor of the Khan Tower of the International Tea Auction Center in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.
Tea from several tea gardens in Panchagarh including Rehena, NTC and Hamidia tea gardens was raised at the auction.
The highest price per kg of tea in the auction was Young Haisong tea from Lakkatora tea garden, which was sold at 1850 taka per kg. 80 percent of the tea raised at the auction was sold. The market value of which is 2.5 crore taka.
Tea Brokers Association General Secretary Md. Shawkat Ali Khan said that about 25 auctions have been completed in the last auction of 204/25. Now the auction of 2025/26 will start. The country’s second international tea auction center will be held at Srimangal on Wednesday of every month.
