Everyone must take a stand against vote theft: Tarique Rahman

Feni Correspondent //

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman said that vote theft has occurred in the last 15 years, voting during the day has taken place at night. Postal ballot theft is also seen this time. Therefore, everyone must take a stand against vote theft.

He said that if the rice sheaf wins the February 12 election, the people of the country will be made self-reliant. The country’s development will be ensured by digging new canals, issuing cards to farmers, providing special assistance to women and various programs. We want to create employment for millions of unemployed.

Tarique Rahman said these things at an election rally at the Feni Government Pilot High School ground on Sunday evening, chaired by District BNP convener Sheikh Farid Bahar and moderated by Member Secretary Alal Uddin Alal.

Criticizing a party, he said that those who are seeking votes by promising to give tickets to heaven are themselves committing shirk and cheating the voters. He called for a stand against these activities.

Tarique Rahman said, there is nothing new to know about the party. People know about their activities during the Liberation War.

He said, to implement the plans we have talked about, we need to focus on two issues. These two issues have deprived Bangladesh of the rights of the people of Bangladesh in the past. Every time BNP has run the country in the past, BNP has proven that only BNP can do these two issues successfully.

The BNP chairman said, we are moving forward on the path of establishing democracy at the cost of many lives; but we are noticing that some quarters are trying to conspire within this country. In the last few days, you have seen how postal ballots sent to various countries including the Middle East have been robbed. Tarique Rahman said, if the people are with BNP, we will control law and order with a strict hand in the coming days as well. So that the common people of the country can earn their livelihood without any hindrance. He said, if the BNP government comes to power, it will suppress corruption at any cost – this is our commitment to the countrymen. The government that was in power from 1996 to 2001, they took the country back by corruption. After that, BNP came to power and took the country forward by preventing corruption. Whoever commits corruption, legal action will be taken against them, there is no identity of the criminal in the eyes of the law. BNP has proven this in the past as well. The BNP chairman said, we have come together here with a goal in mind. We have come together with a change in mind. The leader of the country, Khaleda Zia, was born on this soil. It is your responsibility to protect her honor. It is also our responsibility to be your companion in joy and sorrow. The blood of this district is in the body of the leader of the country, Khaleda Zia. Tarique Rahman said that the country became independent in 1971, and the student-public movement of 2024 has protected that independence. For the past 16 years, the political, economic, freedom of speech and personal freedom of the people were taken away, and the students and public movement was held to restore those rights of the people. Introducing 13 BNP candidates from the three districts of Feni-Noakhali-Lakshmipur at the meeting, he said, by voting for them and making them victorious on February 12, you will get what you owe from them. Other speakers at the rally included Feni-1 constituency candidate Rafiqul Alam Majnu, Feni-2 constituency candidate Professor Joynal Abedin VP, Feni-3 constituency candidate Abdul Awal Mintu, Noakhali’s Joynal Abedin Faruk, Laxmipur’s Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, district BNP joint convener Gazi Habib Ullah Manik, Anwar Hossain Patwari, and others.
