A major summit of the BRICS alliance is underway in the Indian capital, Delhi. Addressing the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a direct message stating that interference in the sovereignty of other nations must cease and that trade with any country should not be obstructed.
He urged everyone to reject the imposition of power-driven decisions and instead unite to maintain an environment conducive to trade and dialogue.
Xi Jinping also expressed deep concern regarding the highly volatile situation in the Middle East. Highlighting the horrors of war, he stated clearly that the conflict in the Middle East is detrimental to the entire world and is driving ordinary people toward destruction. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian were also personally present at the meeting.
Emphasizing the need to unite nations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted at the outset of the summit that the group represents half the world’s population and 40 percent of the global economy. He called for breaking the old rules of power dynamics to build a world where nations—large and small alike—enjoy equal rights.
