Bangladesh had to set a world record to win the Chennai Test. But the Tigers could not show anything miraculous. In response to India’s 515 runs, Nazmul Hossain Shantor’s team was bowled out for 234 runs. As a result, India won by 280 runs. Even in such a defeat, the Tiger leader sees several achievements.
Shanto said at the post-match award ceremony, ‘Taskin-Hasan’s bowling is the positive aspect of this Test. The way they bowled for the first 2-3 hours of the first innings, the Indian batsmen were under a lot of pressure. Although later they turned around. We used the new ball very well. However, I could not maintain that consistency.
Talking about his batting, Shantar said, ‘I always try to contribute to the needs of the team. I really enjoy batting. Try to bat as long as possible. The Kanpur Test is important for us. The bowlers are doing well, hopefully the batsmen will also get back into the rhythm soon.’
The second and final Test of the series will be played in Kanpur from September 27 to October 1. Both Tests are part of the ICC Test Championship.
