The Awami League leader tried to defend himself after receiving a phone call, but finally his life was not saved. The miscreants entered the house and brutally beat him to death.

The deceased A. League leader is Noor Alam alias Nuru Taylor (60), a resident of Panchpara village of Chandraganj Union of Lakshipur Sadar Upazila, Ward No. 2 general secretary of Awami League. He was a tailor by profession.

The incident took place on Sunday (September 22) around 9:00 pm in Panchpara village of Chandraganj Union of Sadar Upazila.

Meanwhile, Arif Hossain, the son of the deceased Nuru, told reporters that my father was at home. Someone called the father’s mobile phone and said that he was coming to beat him. He was leaving the house to escape. Just at that moment 10-12 people came to the house with sticks to beat the father. Later they chased and beat my father. In the meantime, throw it in the pond at home. Raised from there and beaten again. When the father was taken to the hospital in a bloody state, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

It is known that Nuru was rescued and taken to a hospital in Chandraganj in a bloody state. The doctor on duty declared Nuru dead there. Later he was brought to Sadar Hospital.

Arif Hossain, the son of the deceased Nuru, also told reporters that he recognized one of the attackers named Khokon. Khokon BNP. His father was killed under Khokon’s leadership. He said, my father did not harm anyone even though Awami League did it. There is no enmity with anyone. My father was killed for political reasons.

Zainal Abedin, the doctor on duty at Sadar Hospital, said that the man named Nuru was brought to the hospital in a dead state. His body is in the morgue.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Police Station Emdadul Haque said, one person died. Police have been dispatched to the scene. Police will also be sent to the hospital. The incident will be investigated and legal action will be taken.
