A.League stands by the people of Sylhet in floods: Minister Nanak

Sylhet Representative//

Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak MP said – Awami League stands by the people of the country in all calamities. Therefore, Awami League stands by the people of Sylhet in this flood too. Even during the disaster of 2022, Awami League leaders and activists extended their helping hand to the people of Sylhet on the instructions of the honorable Prime Minister. This has also happened during the Corona period. During the flood in 2022, the Prime Minister himself visited Sylhet and took necessary measures.

He said that the government will not only provide relief to the ongoing floods, the honorable Prime Minister will take all measures to compensate for the damage caused to the agricultural sector. People of Sylhet do not panic, do not panic. Your representatives are always with you. As Sheikh Hasina’s personal staff, they will perform all duties.

The jute minister also said that leader Sheikh Hasina is visiting different countries of the world for the overall economic development and prosperity of the country. He is continuing such activities to build a smart Bangladesh.

The minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the relief distribution ceremony organized by Awami League at the 42nd Ward Councilor office premises of Sylhet metropolis on Monday (June 24).

Criticizing BNP, Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that BNP had turned the country into a bankrupt state by looting thousands of crores of rupees. Their bosses have created mountains of wealth by smuggling money abroad, including building luxury buildings. We complained at that time – Tariq Rahman is embezzling money in this country, action should be taken against him. But Khaleda Zia government did not take any action against Tarek Rahman. But our leader Sheikh Hasina is uncompromising when it comes to corruption. Therefore, no corrupt person can pass under the rule of Awami League.

Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury presided over the event and Awami League Joint Secretary and Kushtia-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Mahabub Ul Alam Hanif, Awami League Presidium member and former Sylhet Member of Parliament Syeda Zebunnesa Haque, Sylhet-3 Constituency MP Habibur Rahman Habib spoke as special guests. Awami League’s relief and social welfare affairs secretary Aminul Islam, central member Azizus Samad Don and top leaders of Sylhet district and metropolitan Awami League.

Prior to this, Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak along with central leaders arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport by air on Monday morning at 7:50 am. Later they visited the shrine of Shahjalal (RA).
