The United States has announced another $375 million in military aid to Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the new aid package on Wednesday (September 25).

Under this, the United States will send a large amount of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, including ammunition, air defenses, anti-tank missiles, cluster munitions, light tactical vehicles.

Blinken said in a statement that the United States is committed to the defense of Ukraine against Russia’s brutal aggression. Washington will send these aid to Ukraine “as soon as possible”.

Earlier in the day, US President Joe Biden and other world leaders signed a joint declaration of support for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. They pledged to support Ukraine “in the future, in war and in peace”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently visiting the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly session as well as meet with the White House. It is against that backdrop that these announcements of new aid and full support for Ukraine come.

In a speech at the United Nations, Zelensky called on the world to stand against Russia’s ‘colonial war’. He said, the world has already gone through colonial wars and conspiracies of big powers, for which small ones had to pay.

Zelensky will visit Washington DC on Thursday. There he will meet US President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, Zelensky promised to unveil Ukraine’s “victory plan” to defeat Russia.
