Winter has begun to settle in the country without any hesitation. It is felt quite cold with thick fog and icy winds. As a result, the temperature in Chuadanga dropped to 14 degrees today.
On Monday (November 18), a temperature of 14.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chuadanga at 6 am. At that time, the humidity of the air was 97 percent. This is the lowest temperature in the district this season.
Yesterday, Sunday, the lowest temperature in the district was 15.8 degrees Celsius. Which is a decrease of 1.3 degrees Celsius in a day.
Wahid Mahmud Robin, Acting Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said that at the beginning of winter, the number of children suffering from diarrhea and pneumonia due to cold-related rotavirus has increased at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. In the past week, more than 3,000 elderly people have received treatment at the hospital’s outdoor clinic for various cold-related diseases, including respiratory problems and diarrhea. The number of children with diarrhea caused by rotavirus has increased due to cold. The number of pneumonia patients is also increasing significantly.
Rakibul Hasan, senior observer of the first-class meteorological observatory in Chuadanga, said, “The lowest temperature recorded in Chuadanga at 6 am on Monday was 14.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature will decrease by 1-2 degrees every day.”
