Cristiano Ronaldo touched the trophy at the moment of landing. When Al Nasr headed in Ronaldo’s goal just before the first-half break, it looked like the trophy he had already touched was going to be his.

But in the second half, Al Hilal showed flowers in Ronaldo’s eyes. 55 to 72 – they scored four goals in just 17 minutes. In the final, Ronaldo’s Al-Nasr, who suddenly lost his heart, lost in that 4-1 goal. Al Hilal became the champion for the second time in a row in the Saudi Super Cup.

Al Hilal beat Karim Benzema-N’Golo Kante’s Al Ittihad by the same margin in last year’s final. The most successful club in Saudi football history won this title for the fifth time.

Al Nasr advanced with Ronaldo’s goal in the 44th minute of the Super Cup final today at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Stadium in the southwestern city of Abhar, Saudi Arabia. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner got the ball from Abdulrahman Gharib in the box and tapped it into the net with a tap from the right edge. His team went into the break within touching distance of the trophy.

But after the break, Al Hilal’s two Serbian footballers, Sergey Milinkovic-Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic, turned the tide of the match. Savic equalized from Mitrovic’s pass in the 55th minute.

After that, Mitrovic took the match out of Ronaldo’s reach by scoring two goals in 6 minutes. And in the 72nd minute, Brazilian forward Malcolm put the last nail in Al Nasr’s coffin.

Ronaldo was speechless after seeing the team scoring one goal after another. Al Hilal have given him the most pain this year.

Last season, Ronaldo’s Al Nasr lost the title to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. Then last May in the Saudi King’s Cup final, they lost to the same opponent and lost the title.

Ronaldo once again failed to overcome Al Hilal barrier in the final. As a result, the Arab Club Champions Cup trophy won in August last year remained his only title for Al Nasr.
