Chunarughat journalists boycott UNO’s opinion exchange meeting

All journalists working in Chunarughat have boycotted the opinion exchange meeting held with the newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer of Chunarughat, Mohammad Robin Mia.

The Chunarughat Upazila administration organized an opinion exchange meeting with journalists from electronic and print media at the Upazila meeting room on Monday afternoon. But due to the presence of loyal workers of the previous fascist government and extortionist anti-journalists at the press conference, journalists working with Chunarughat Press Club, Chunarughat Reporters Unity, Chunarughat Journalist Forum and Online Press Club did not participate in the meeting.

When asked about this, the newly appointed UNO said, “I am new here, so I do not know many people. Since you did not come, I ended the program by having a brief conversation with three-four people present.” We will soon organize an exchange of views with mainstream journalists including Chunarughat Press Club.

Journalists working in Chunarughat said, in a free Bangladesh achieved through the blood donation of students and the public, we cannot sit at the same table with non-journalists who are allies of fascism. We boycotted the UNO meeting with fascist activists. We will boycott it in the future if any fascist or non-journalists are present in any meeting of the administration.
